SENSIBLE LOADING/ WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Sensible caravan loading
When loading your caravan or trailer, ensure that the heaviest items are packed low and positioned centrally over the wheel axles. Lighter items should be stored higher up and evenly distributed throughout the vehicle. This proper weight distribution helps minimise the risk of ‘snaking’ or swaying while towing, improving overall stability and safety on the road.
Overloaded caravan
Every item you pack adds weight to your caravan. Once you've decided what to bring, it's essential to weigh everything—including water, clothing, cookware, gas bottles, mattresses, and any other items contributing to the overall load. Remember to also account for any additional weight you may pick up during your trip. Overloading your caravan is not only unsafe but also illegal. Understanding exactly what you're packing and how much it all weighs is critical for both safety and compliance.
